Coshocton Lake Park Hosts a Dog Fest to Help the Local Animal Shelter
If you and your furry friend are looking for something to do this weekend, the first ever Coshocton Dog Fest could be what you’re looking for.
This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Coshocton Lake Park, you can check out vendors selling pet related goods, let your dog play on the lure course, and see impressive doggy demonstrations
“Well it’s going to be very exciting. We’re going to have Ultimate Air Dogs and they’re a dock diving team and people come from all over to do this. It’s a team sport and they’ll come for, like to other states. Ohio doesn’t have a lot of dock diving so a lot of people are going to come here to do this. They set up a 45 foot pool, a 45 foot dock and these dogs that are use to doing that just take off right off the end of the dock and into the water. It’s a lot of fun to watch.” said Brad Fuller, the festival manager and owner of Good Boy Bakery in Historic Roscoe Village.
The event was organized by the Good Boy Bakery, Historic Roscoe Village, and Friends of the Parks for a special cause.
“One of the biggest things is the challenge that our local animal shelter is having, raising funds. So, this festival is going to be a fundraiser for Coshocton County Animal Shelter and our lofty goal is to raise $10,000 for the animal shelter which I think we can do so they can continue to concentrate on placing misplaced animals into homes or new homes and they don’t have to worry too much about fundraising,” Fuller said.
At the same time as the dog fest, there will also be a food truck festival in Historic Roscoe Village, with free shuttle transport offered between the two events. You can learn more at the Coshocton Dog Fest’s website.
