Coshocton Teen Dies After Car Slams into Tree

One person is dead following a crash in Coshocton County early Sunday Morning.

Zanesville Post troopers say 19-year-old Tyler Thorpe from Coshocton was driving westbound around 3:40 am on US Route 36 in Bethlehem Township when he lost control of his car, crossed the center line of the road and hit a tree.

The Coshocton County Coroner pronounced Thorpe dead at the scene.

Thorpe’s passenger, 21-year-old Ronald Holbrook was transported to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital with injuries.

Troopers say seat belts were not in use and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
