Crooksville High School Puts On Mock Accident
Crooksville High School students learned a real life lesson Friday during a mock accident.
Students crowded around to watch medical and rescue professionals handle a fatal accident in the same way that they would if it were to actually happen. Crooksville Fire Fighter and Paramedic, Melissa Jones says its a big production.
“It takes our whole department working together both fire and EMS and we do have some volunteers from other surrounding departments that do come in and help and we have donations from area junk yards that give us cars to use.”
Med Flight even landed on the scene of the accident. All of this was to remind students of the dangers of drinking and driving during their prom weekend. Jones says that the students are getting the message.
“They really are excited when they see it, they watch it and it does hit home, especially because its never real until they see it’s their friend. You know and if you see your friend in a car wounded or laying outside a car, it kind of hits home.”
Crooksville High Schools Prom is at 5PM Saturday.
