Dale E. “Red” McIntire, 75 of Zanesville, passed away October 26, 2011 at Genesis Hospital Zanesville.

Red was born June 17th 1936 in Zanesville the son of the late Lewis and Wilma (Gallogly) McIntire. He retired from the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo and also worked for the Zanesville Times Recorder Newspaper, he was a member of the Salt Creek Beagle Club and one of the founders of the High Hill Sportsman Club an avid Cleveland Indians fan and he had a passion for hunting. He was a member of the VFW post #1058 and he served his country in the US Army.

Red is survived by his special companion, Margaret McConnel; three daughters, Robin Westcott (Don Ore) of Zanesville, Christina McIntire of Zanesville and Kelly McIntire of Zanesville; a sister, Mary Frances Sims of Zanesville; eight grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and a special person, Jenny Salsbury and the mother of his children, Julia Clifford.

In addition to his parents; Red is preceded in death by his three brothers, James, Robert and Earl McIntire.

Visitations will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Ark Spring Baptist Church where funeral services will be 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Ark Spring Church Cemetery.
