Daniel Murphy

Daniel Raymond Murphy, 57, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Genesis Hospital. Daniel was born November 27, 1966 in Davenport, Iowa, son of the late Carol Ann Ward and Daryl Raymond Murphy.

Daniel leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved siblings, Susan Gail (Phillip) Holbert and Terry Lee Murphy; his nieces and nephews, Mishelle (Nate) Trescott, Tammara (Kyle) Martin, Elizabeth (Todd) Zarcovaski, Rebbecca (Raffiel) Wells and Shawn Michael Murphy; several great-nieces and nephews; soul-wife, Sylvia Evans; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Daniel was a ray of sunshine who often brought laughter to those around him. He was known to sometimes raise their blood pressure also. No matter how hard it may have been, Daniel always made it a point to get down on the floor to play with the little ones. He took special care of the babies and felt pride as they continued to learn and grow. Daniel had a childlike faith that never allowed him to waiver, and that’s how his family knows he has met his Savior.

Daniel loved to pull things apart and make every attempt at putting them back together. He was often successful, even if he had a leftover piece or two. He was an avid consumer of WWF and WWE. Daniel could often be found enjoying an ice-cold Coke. He loved good food and appreciated having a full belly. Daniel loved his DVDs, lottery tickets and any monetary gifts. He was a doting brother to Susan, and he took his role as older brother to Terry very seriously. Daniel was a beloved brother and uncle who will be missed by those who loved him.

You may call on the family Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Per the family’s wishes, cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
