David Blackstone Benefit

Barn Paramedic

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Co-workers are giving back to the oldest working paramedic in Muskingum County.

David Blackstone has been a paramedic for a long time and after a hip surgery forced him to take leave his fellow emergency responders are holding a benefit to give a little something back to him.

“Through his life and through his practice years he’s come across some setbacks,” said Community Ambulance Operation Supervisor Craig Lewis. “His wife had been sick for a while. We’re trying to take care of him like he’s taken care of so many of us.”

Lewis said Blackstone has helped so many in his time and that they want to take care of him. He said they want to invite the community out to join them for an evening of music, food, and drinks.

“We’re a big family, so, Fire police, EMS, hospital staff, I mean we’re one big family and we take care of our own,” said Lewis.

The benefit will take place at The Barn on Sunday from 4:30 to 7:30 and all proceeds will go to the David Blackstone Appreciation Fund.
