David White

David Lee White Sr. went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1941, and resided in McConnelsville most of his life.
David served the public for over 35 years in law enforcement, all within Morgan County. He began as a deputy sheriff and later with the McConnelsville Police Department, culminating with becoming Chief of Police. He also served as a paramedic with the M&M Fire Department and worked part time with his father-in-law in the farm-tractor business.
David had a competitive spirit in most sports, especially golf, basketball and tennis. He found joy in showing horses with the family in SEOEA as well as OQH. He and his wife also loved riding their motorcycle.
His legacy of love and peace will live in the hearts of his family, friends and the many people he served in his work.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Faye Gessel White; two sons: David Lee White II and Douglas Lawrence White; three grandchildren: Kristen (James) Van Buren, Ariel (Josh) Williams and Braden White; five great grandchildren: Evelyn Van Buren, Benjamin Van Buren, Jack Van Buren, Emmett Williams and Oliver Williams; two brothers: Jack (Pam) White and Cary White; and a sister Barbara (Brad) Speakman.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Jack L. and Mary Croy White; and a brother Gary White.
David is now without cancer pain of many years and now at peace with the Lord. At his request, there will be neither funeral service nor calling hours. He will be laid to rest in the McConnelsville Cemetery joining the family.
The family would like to send out many thanks to Genesis Hospital and Genesis Hospice Morrison House, for their fine care and all the help in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
