Davis Pleads Guilty to Liberty St. Shooting

A Zanesville man changes his plea in connection to a December shooting on Liberty Street near the Canteen Bar. 

In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Clarence E. Davis II plead guilty to three counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence. 

Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued Davis’ bond at $1 milion. 

Davis had plead not guilty in December.

Zanesville Police Chief Kenneth Miller said officers were dispatched the Canteen Bar on December 5 just after 2am. Police said a verbal altercation began inside the Canteen Bar and then moved outside where Davis shot at a person involved in the argument. That person was not shot, but three others were.
