Davis Pleads “Not Guilty”
A Zanesville man is taken into custody following an arraignment in Muskingum County Court.
In front of Judge Scott Rankin 55-year-old Thomas Davis plead not guilty to unauthorized use a motor vehicle, OVI Under the Influence, OVI Breath High, no operators license, speeding and a seat belt violation.
He also requested a court appointed attorney to his case. Judge Rankin addressed Davis in court.
“Given your history sir, I believe you’re a danger to the community. Obviously it appears from your record you have a serious alcohol problem. ”
Bond is set at $25,000 and Davis was taken into custody by the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office. Should he post bond he’ll be subject to alcohol monitoring.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Matt Boyd said Davis was arrested on US 40 near the intersection of Jersey Ridge Road in Falls Township after he was stopped for a traffic violation.
This is Davis’ 12th OVI charge.
