“Getting the whole community down here together to light off the fireworks,” Zanesville Jaycees board member Ty Berkfield said.
“[This event] gives everybody something to do, a central location to watch [fireworks], and have a good time with the bands, carnival rides and all of our nonprofit vendors.”
The rain did not stop people from coming out and celebrating their freedom. Not only does Stars and Stripes on the River bring the community together, but there are several different things available that every member of your family can enjoy.
“My favorite part would would have to be the car show,” Terry Runkle said. “I just like seeing all the older cars. I especially like the old muscle.”
“It’s a good event,” Eagle Riders Vice President Mark Crawford said. “It’s a good thing for families to come out and bring your kids, to just come out hang out enjoy the fireworks and the rides.”
Berkfield said Stars and Stripes on the River will conclude with Monday night’s fireworks display beginning at around 9:30 p.m.
