ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Labor Day means it’s almost the end of summer and people are using the holiday to spend time with loved ones.

Kids enjoyed their day off, of school, by going to Kidzville Park in Zanesville. Apostolic Christian Church Pastor Nathan McDonald said his church holds this event at the park for the last few years. He said his friends, family, and church come out every year at this time to celebrate the unofficial end of the summer.

“This is the place to be,” said Pastor McDonald. “This is fantastic. There’s a whole lot of activity for the children who don’t have to wonder what to do. They’re not bored, so it’s the place to be.”

People are also using the long weekend to travel and see their family. Air Force member Roxanne Sickel came from Dayton to see her family and spend the weekend with them. She said having the day off makes it easier for her to see her mom and her mom gets to see her grandchild.

“I don’t get to visit very often, so whenever we do, it’s good to have something that we’re outside for. We like to come outside and spend time (together,)” said Sickel

Over 100 kids were at the park enjoying food, pick-up football, swings, slides, and cooling off under the water.
