Deadline For Voter Registration is February 16th

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- There are 2 deadlines fast approaching with regards to the presidential election.

Muskingum County Board of Elections Director Timothy Thompson said if you want to vote in the primary election in March. The deadline to register to vote is this month.

“Voter’s registrations deadline is February 16th. We will be open until 9 o clock that night. Voter’s can even come in last minute can register to vote if they so choose. The next day early voting starts. We have extended hours for that. I’ll put that on our website. Early voting continues on until March 14th at 2 o clock. The deadline for early voting is 2 o clock, we’re looking forward to the voters coming in and taking advantage of early voting,” said Thompson.

Thompson said voters can also apply for an absentee ballot. Thompson also said the board is looking for poll workers. The workers will be trained. The only requirements are you must be 18 or old and registered voter.

“We pay $30 for training and $115 for working the polls that day. It’s a service for the community. Help give your civil service and help  community. It’s a really rewarding opportunity. I would encourage anybody that’s interested to give us a call,” said Thompson.
