Dean Barr

Dean L Barr, age 62, of Senecaville, OH, began his ascension home on May 31, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Dean was born on September 17, 1962, in Cambridge, OH to Donald Edgar and Anna Louise Dean Barr. He grew up in a loving household with his two sisters, Karen Simmons and Gaye Rogers in Senecaville, Ohio. Dean graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1980 before earning his Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Technology from Ohio University in 1984. He was most recently a Quality Engineer at Qanex Systems of Cambridge, Ohio.
Dean will be remembered for his loving personality, sense of humor, kindness, love for music and sports, and dedication to his family. He was a beloved spouse, father, sibling, grandparent, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Melody Jacobs Barr, son, Jarad Donald Barr, daughter-in-law, Shayla Nicole Barr, grandchildren, Kennedy Grace and Emersyn Shay Barr, siblings, Karen Simmons and Gaye Rogers, loving nieces and nephews, and preceded in death by his son, Jacob Dean Barr, parents, Donald E. and Anna L. Barr.
A celebration of life will be held on June 14th, 2025, at Senecaville Methodist Church, beginning at noon.
Dean’s legacy of love and strength will live on through all who knew him.
