Deborah L. Mayse (65), of Zanesville died on January 24, 2022 after an extended illness at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville

She was born in Zanesville to Robert and Cynthia Hammersley. She graduated from Philo High School in 1974. She attended Zane State College where she earned her Associates of Applied Business as a Paralegal on June 14, 2008.

After high school, Debbie and her ex-husband engaged in the full-time ministry as regular pioneers of Jehovah’s Witnesses moving to various areas in Ohio and West Virginia. Debbie returned to Zanesville with the love of her life, her baby girl Jasmin, who stayed by her side throughout her years. Debbie was a devoted single mother.  After graduation from Zane State, Debbie was employed at Spectrum where she worked as a customer service representative for many years. Debbie enjoyed several hobbies. She loved to sew, scrapbook, decorate, travel and enjoyed being with her friends. She loved to go to the ocean in the summer time with her parents and her daughter. She will be remembered as a wonderful friend who loved music, dancing, and who always put others first.

She is survived by her daughter Jasmin Mayse; her mother Cynthia Hammersley; her brother Mark Hammersley (Jennifer) all of Zanesville; and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Robert of Zanesville.

A virtual memorial will be held via Zoom on Saturday February 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Sean Ragsdale officiating. Please call 740-452-4070 for memorial information.
