Debra “Debbie” J. Griffin

Debra “Debbie” J. Griffin, 73 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

She was born on October 11, 1952, in Dennison, Ohio, to the late Ed Sr. and Shirley (Brindley) Griffin.

Debbie received a bachelor’s degree and taught respiratory therapy for a few years at Mid-East Technology School in Zanesville. She worked as a certified respiratory therapist for over thirty-five years before retiring from Genesis Healthcare. Debbie took great pride in her work and caring for others.

She enjoyed watching the Food Network, shopping, and spending time with her dog, GG.

Debbie is survived by her brother, Ed Griffin Jr.; her special friend, Patricia Fultz; her special great-niece and great-nephew, Sienna and Izayah Contreras; her other great-nieces and great-nephews, Hannah Brooks, Bella Brooks, Chase Griffin, and Evan Brooks; special family, Connie Trueman and her three boys, Raffaele, Dominic, and Lorenzo Ruta; as well as her nieces, Amy and Christie Griffin.

In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason E. Griffin, who was born on April 12, 1973, and who passed away on September 5, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Debbie’s honor to the Coshocton Hospice or the Muskingum County Animal Shelter.

In keeping with her wishes, a caring cremation will take place. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is honored to care for the Griffin family.
