Deer Hunters Take to the Woods
Ohio expects around 420 thousand hunters to hit the woods this deer gun season.
The week long season began Monday a half hour before sunrise. Some hunters spent many hours in the woods while others only a short time. It took Shawn Edwards a half hour to get his 4 point buck.
"It just a thrill being out there, take the kids out, you get to be with them and be around a bunch of buddies," said hunter Shawn Edwards.
"I got a buck right off the bat early in the morning, so I didn’t have to sit in my stand too long," said hunter Ryan Fink. "I enjoyed coming down hunting with friends."
The Division of Wildlife said hunting has an $859 economic impact each year on state. After this week hunters will get an extra weekend in the woods December 15 and 16th.
