Delores “Dell” Clark

Delores “Dell” Eudell Clark, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at her residence. She was born April 28, 1936, in Montgomery County, Tennessee to the late Clarence and Bessie Ham Bumpus. She was a graduate of Cumberland Furnace High School in Tennessee. She was a sewing machine operator at 5B’s for many years and a member of Maranatha Bible Church.
Dell was everyone’s grandma and friend, known as “Ma Dell”. Conversations with Ma Dell nearly always ended in laughter, sometimes mingled with tears and a hug. She was always ready to listen and then encourage by word and deed. Her tasty loaves of homemade bread cheered many of her friends.
Although her health kept her mostly homebound in recent years, she still uplifted others with encouraging cards and in fervent prayer. Her love for the Lord and her desire to see others come to know the Lord and live for him were evident to all who knew her.
Second to her love of people was her love of activity and travel. Whether on a daytrip to Amish country or more extended vacation time to the mountains or ocean; Ma Dell was always ready for adventure. She was also an accomplished seamstress with a critical eye for detail. Her sweet tooth led to a ready stash of candy and cookies that family and friends were always ready to help her eat, especially her homemade caramel corn and coconut cake.
We will miss her presence among us, but Ma Dell’s legacy of faith, love, loyalty, strength and prosperity will long outlive her. May Jesus Christ be praised.
She is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Michelle) Parks, Thomas (Becky) Parks and Cynthia (Ryan) Lucas; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Vernon F. Parks, who passed away August 9, 1991; her second husband Charles M. Clark, who passed away June 27, 2020; five brothers: David Bumpus, Clarence Bumpus Jr., Clyde Bumpus, Ross Bumpus and Frank Bumpus; and two sisters: Jewel Hayes and Jean Kraeske.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Maranatha Bible Church, 2400 Chandlersville Road, Zanesville. The service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Cemetery.
