Dillon State Park Gets Ready for Halloween “Spooktacular”
NASHPORT, OH – Dillon State Parking is getting into the Halloween spirit this weekend.
Beginning on Friday, Oct. 25th at 5PM and going until Saturday till 9PM, Dillon State Park, along with the Friends of Dillon, will be hosting their annual “Halloween Spooktacular.”
Michael Durst, the Park Naturalist at Dillon, said there will be a wide range of activities, contests, and games going on during the two day event.
“We have a big trick-or-treat that also a lot of people look forward to every year,” Durst said. “It’s just a nice community event, we have a lot of vendors that come out too, so just being able to support the community and get a lot of people out here gathering and having a good time for the season.”
Durst said the trick-or-treat event spans over the entire campground and anyone is welcome to participate. He said it’s great to see all the campers and campsites decorated for others to enjoy.
Durst also says this event wouldn’t have been possible without some help from the Friends of Dillon.
“Things kind of got restarted a few years ago, with our Friends Group, our Volunteer Group, and myself, starting to kind of roll out a little bigger events for Halloween,” Durst said. “The response has been great these past few years so we’re looking forward to what this year brings.”
