Dodge Ball for Charity

The Muskingum County Recreation Center is hosting a dodge ball tournament next Saturday.

The tournament will benefit Tara Poorman’s charity at the annual ‘Dancing with the Divas’ fundraiser.

“It’s going toward our Seniors Scholarship Fund,” said Poorman. “So, we have a lot of seniors silver sneakers members here but not all seniors in our area have the silver sneakers coverage on their secondary insurance so a lot of people are on a fixed income and would not be able to afford a membership to the MRC so we’d like to establish a fund to provide scholarships.”

The cost is just $100 per team and each team can have from 6 to 8 people. The MRC is already equipped with a team. They are simply waiting for a brave group of opponents to face.

“Our membership coordinator, she has fielded a team and they’re ready to go so we need some more teams to get involved and challenge the MRC team,” said Poorman.

Anyone interested in registering for the best 3 out of 5 tournament can do so at the Muskingum Rec. Center by July 8.
