ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball at the upcoming charity dodgeball tournament.

Drug Free Muskingum’s annual charity dodgeball tournament is this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Muskingum County YMCA. The event features two food trucks, free daycare, and a chance to win money to help the community.

“All the money goes back into whatever non-profit they would like to donate to. So, the top two teams get to name that non-profit. So, we give all the money back to the community,” said Drug Free Muskingum’s co-founder, Monica Doan.

Best uniform and best team name awards will also be on the ballot for those in the crowd. According Doan, the 5-year tradition has grown every year since it’s inception and this year is no different.

“Something new we’re offering is we will be doing Project Dawn, our Naloxone training as well for anybody that maybe needs that while they’re there. And then, our book signing, Tim and Amber Craft will be coming from West Virginia to do that, so just adding a little bit more for the family,” Doan said. “And, a DJ, so we did add a DJ. DJ Kurtis will be there to kind of hype it up this year for us as well. So, he’ll be MC’ing it and kind of doing a little bit of hype for us. So, it’s growing. ”

You can register your team of six through a QR code that can be found on Drug Free Muskingum’s Facebook page or register at the door. You can also sign up to be a corporate sponsor.
