ZANESVILLE, Ohio- We have a playful pooch to introduce to true Ohio State fans.

Meet Buckeye. He’s a three-year-old mixed breed dog looking for his furever home. Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center Dog Deputy Brittany Calihan said Buckeye is a fun freckled dog with lots of talent.

“He’s a good dog and he knows a lot of tricks,” said Calihan. “He can sit, shake, speak on command, and then if you tell him to catch and he’ll catch it. So he does a lot of tricks.”

Buckeye came to the Adoption Center as a stray back in November. He’s looking for a family that likes to get up and move and have some fun with him.

“He’d be good in any kind of family. Just anyone that’s active. He has of energy. So definitely someone maybe that could control him, handle him. But once he calms down he’s fine. I mean he’s been out for a while now and he’s just hanging out.”

Buckeye is neutered and up to date on his shots. His adoption fee is $105. Calihan said he seems to do well with kids and gets along with some dogs, but not all. She said it’s a good idea to bring your family to visit Buckeye.

“I think everyone should just come up and give him a chance. He might be barking in the kennel, but they’re all barking. Once you get him out he’s a really good dog.”
