Doggie Day: Unique boy with a big appetite
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Dog and Kennel picked a gentle giant for their Doggie Day.
Although he stands out all on his own, Brittany Calihan the Deputy Dog Warden, said she picked him for this day because he is so unique. He has a big appetite and is a big baby who is very loving.
“This is Dexter. He’s a big boy. He is a big St. Bernard mix. You can definitely tell, the only thing he doesn’t have is the long St. Bernard hair. Other than that I think he looks just like one,” Calihan said. “He’s a young boy, he’s maybe one to two years old. He was just neutered yesterday so he’s all ready to go.”
Calihan said Dexter is a stray and they have had him longer than they thought they would but he is ready to be adopted. He is great with all kinds of people but would do best with an active family.
“He’s big. He’s not our typical little dog. He is a big dog,” Calihan said.
Dexter probably should not be in a home with a cat because he gets anxious and wants to chase them. For more information about Dexter you can call the kennel at (740) 453-0273, go to their Facebook or stop by.
