Doggie Day: Zion

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s Tuesday which means another furry friend is hoping to join your family.
This is Zion. He is a two-year-old terrier mix. He’s been at the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center since September and is ready to go to his furever home. Deputy Dog Warden Brittany Calihan said Zion is a sweet dog that does well with other dogs and kids.
“He’s very gentle, easy going. He’s a very lovable dog,” said Calihan. “He likes to sit in your lap. And he always does this thing with his ear. You can see. He points it up.”
Calihan said Zion is also playful and won’t mind taking walks and playing with you.
“He is a little excited in his kennel, but once you get him out he’s a completely different dog. So if people could just come in and give him a chance I think that he could surprise a lot of people,” Calihan shared.“He wants to play. He really likes going to the play area. He was just in there before this so he could burn off some energy. But you can tell now, look at him, he’s tired. He’s done.”
Calihan said Zion would do best with a family with a fenced in yard where he can run and play. Zion is up to date on all of his shots and has had his surgery. His adoption fee is $105. If you are interested in meeting him, you can give the Adoption Center a call at 740-453-0273.
