Doggy Day: Francis

Francis

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A new dog is up for adoption this week, and her name is Francis.

Francis is a four year old lab mix. She has only been with the Dog Warden and Adoption Center for a few months. Deputy dog warden, Brittany Calihan, said Francis is out of her puppy phase but still has plenty of energy in her. She makes for a great dog because of how calm and loving she is.

“As you can see, she is very affectionate and she is very gentle. She’s not going to knock you over or anything like that. She’s a good dog,” Calihan said.

Francis is wonderful with other animals, so she would fit well with a family with several pets. Calihan said Francis is spoiled and loves to be with her blanket on cold days.

“She’s not liking this cold weather, she has a blanket in her kennel and she loves to curl up in the blanket. She takes it off the bed and she just digs with it and plays with it,” she said.

Francis’ adoption is fee is $105, she is already spayed, and caught up with her shots. The Adoption Center is also holding a fundraiser for their new building this Saturday at Bryan’s Place at 8 p.m. Tickets for the Comedy Club Fundraiser can be purchased at the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center or the Winerak and costs $20.
