Donald “Don” Cotterman

Donald James Cotterman age 83 of Zanesville passed away peacefully in the home he built on Saturday morning, Sept 27 after a long illness. He was born Oct 11, 1941, in Perry County OH, the oldest son of Jim and Josephine Cotterman. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Don is survived by his wife Pat, four daughters, Carrie (Brian) Adams, Carolyn Jack, Carmen Crist, and Corinna (Marcus) Wisecarver and remembered by his seven Grandchildren; Leah and Ashley Adams, Bill and Jared (Jessica) Jack, Rebecca and Jessica Crist, and Matthew (Hope) Wisecarver. He also has four Great Grand Children, Gavin, Elizabeth, Olivia and Elijah. He also leaves his brothers Dick (Linda) Cotterman, Kenny (Donna) Cotterman and Polly (Randy) Starner and many nieces, nephews and other friends and loved ones. He will be missed.
Don retired from Mid-Atlantic Canners after many years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He loved to search for ginseng and morel mushrooms, and we could always find him spending time in the garden or in his pool. He was happiest when he could be outside.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday Oct 2 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home. 110 Third Street Frazeysburg, OH 43822. Burial will follow at the Frazeysburg Cemetery. Calling hours are from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
