Donald E. Shoemaker (August 27, 1940 – April 22, 2012)

Donald E. Shoemaker, 71 of Zanesville Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Ohio State University Medical Center.

Don was born August 27, 1940 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Arthur Earl Shoemaker and Mildred Woodward Shoemaker. Don worked as an office manager for AAA in both Zanesville and Cambridge retiring in 2002, prior to that he directed the news at WHIZ-TV. He was a member of the Ohio Hills Spinners and Weavers Guild and the Algonquin Spinners and Weavers Guild in Carlton, Ohio. He enjoyed traveling, spending time and singing with friends.

He is survived by his special Friend Bill Sichina, Sister Cathy (Larry) Sharrer, Nieces Crystal (Tim) Russell and Candi Cox, nephew Craig Sharrer and several great-nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his parents.

The family is being served by the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME 2318 Maple Ave. where friends may call from 4-8 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012 Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Friday, April 27th at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jordan Turano, OP officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
