Donald Stalling

Donald D. Stalling, 44, of Crooksville, known affectionately to most as Donnie , passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2024, at the Genesis Emergency Center Perry Campus. Born on February 15, 1980, in Zanesville, Ohio, Donnie was the son of Donald L. Stalling and the late Geraldine (Knight) Stalling, He was a ray of sunshine to his family and grew up surrounded by love and laughter alongside his sisters Jennifer Stalling and Misty Vanfossen and was preceded in death by his brother Jeremiah Stalling. Donnie was also a beloved nephew, cousin, and uncle, treasuring the moments he spent with his numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as his extended family and a wide circle of friends. A hard worker with a heart of gold, Donnie found joy and purpose in his work at Perco, especially the times labor was for Cooper Standard. His dedication and love for his job and the products he helped create was obvious to all who worked around him. Music was one of Donnie’s greatest passions. His extensive collection of CDs, cassettes, 8-tracks, and albums was a testament to his love for all genres. Donnie had a curious and active mind, often found solving puzzles or coloring with a focus that was both intense and calming. These simple pleasures brought him immense satisfaction and peace. Additionally, his love for the outdoors was apparent through his fondness for fishing and drive-in movies, activities that allowed him to bask in the beauty of nature and the thrill of a good story. The Perry County Board of MRDD held a valuable place in Donnie’s heart. His special outings with the board were not just events but cherished experiences that brought a radiant smile to his face. Donnie’s love for life was most vibrant when he was out of the house, embarking on adventures, no matter how big or small. To him, the joy was not in the destination but in the company, he kept, especially when surrounded by his loving family. One of his proudest accomplishments was he was accepted as a member of the New Lexington Eagles and was ready to be inducted. Welcoming him into Heaven along with his mother, Geraldine and brother Jeremiah were his maternal grandparents, David and Ruby Knight, and paternal grandparents, David and Eileen Stalling, along with his aunts and uncles, Eddie (Marsha) Stalling, John Knight, and Evelyn Bays.
