Donate blood in honor of Kase and Peyton
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Two children and their parents, are asking for people to join them in their fight against Leukemia.
Kase and Peyton were diagnosed with cancer, and along with their families, are asking people to come donate blood to the American Red Cross.
Peyton’s mother, Lindsey Hubal, said when her daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia she didn’t realize how necessary blood donations are for cancer patients.
“She needed 15 blood products from when we started until now. If we could replace, like have 15 people donate, I would feel like we did our part and helped future children that are diagnosed,” said Hubal.
Hubal said Peyton went into remission last June and is in maintenance right now. She has a year left of chemotherapy.
Hubal said this blood drive is a way to help people in the future as well as a way to say thank you for everyone who saved her daughter’s life.
“We’re just so grateful for everything that we’ve been given in this community. I just feel like when people look at her and they can see that this child is still alive because of 15 or 20 people that donated blood. I feel like when everybody sits at home and they think to look at that poor child ‘what can we do to help?’ This is what you can do to help,” said Hubal.
To find out if you are eligible to donate or to set up an appointment, you can call the Red Cross at (740) 844-2017.
The Blood Drive will be at the Muskingum Recreation Center on Friday, April 20th from 1:00 to 7 P.M.
