Donations Welcome at Christ’s Table

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – One local organization is reminding everyone that the giving spirit should last all year round even through the Summer.

Christ’s Table is encouraging the community to help those in need when you can. It only costs 25 cents to provide for a warm meal at Christ’s Table. And it’s a team effort to make it all happen. Last year, Christ’s Table budgeted $25,000 for food purchasing, and in turn provided up to 119,000 meals back into the community.

“We have so many people donating food. We go out with our partner, Feeding America, everyday and pick up local food that maybe would be going to waste that we turn into a meal. And then the purchasing power of every dollar that comes into Christ’s Table is amazing when we partner with Mid-Ohio Food Bank, and the food that we get at little to no cost, we truly can do a meal for 25 cents,” said Executive Director, Keely Warden.

Christ’s Table created a coupon book for those who would like to help out. It’s just 10 dollars a month, which adds up to 40 meals a month that will be served.

“We encourage people to not be afraid of giving. Make it a verb, don’t be afraid. It doesn’t have to be $100, it doesn’t have to be $1000. Every $10 helps,” Warden said.

If you would still like to donate items, Christ’s Table is in need of more bottles of water to serve for the Summer season.
