Donna Bridgman

Donna Marie Bridgman, lovingly known by many as Mommer, age 89, of Caldwell, OH passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Altercare Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell, OH. She was born on May 4, 1936 in Carlisle, OH daughter of the late Rayner A. and Bernetta Rose Ruppel Schehl.
She was a devoted member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and the church’s Catholic Women’s Club. Donna enjoyed caring for her yard where she loved decorating for every holiday, especially fall using Brooke’s home-grown pumpkins and gourds. She also loved to collect rocks and pinecones that her grandchildren brought her from every place they visited. She loved to reminisce about her days growing up in Carlisle. And Donna never missed an airing of her favorite show Judge Judy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dale Bridgman, whom she married April 27, 1957 and who passed away April 25, 1995; great-granddaughter Brielle Archer; siblings Rita Crock, Victor Schehl, John Schehl, Mary Merry, and Richard Schehl; special friend Ruth Barlock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Gary Bridgman of Caldwell; daughter Gwen (Randy) Archer of Carlisle, OH; grandchildren Amber (Mikal) Irvin of Caldwell, Brooke (Fran) Yontz of Summerfield, OH, Andrea (Christopher) Hall of East Union, OH, and Derek (Taylor) Archer of Carlisle, OH; great-grandchildren Edynn, Aurora, Kade, Savannah, and Scarlett Irvin, Blake, Kyra, Lyston, and Nicholas Yontz, Paxton Hall, and Kaison Archer. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary Service held at 7:30 PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1036 Belford St, Caldwell, OH 43724, with Rev. Father Thomas Nelson and Rev. Father Chester Pabin serving as concelebrants. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Dale.
