Doris Barnes

Doris M. (Bolyard) Barnes, 90, of New Lexington, Ohio went to be with her heavenly father at 11:32am on July 27, 2025 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.

Born March 19, 1935 in Junction City, Perry County, Ohio to the late Elmer and Lessie Shahan Bolyard.

Doris was a homemaker, making bread, pies and homemade ice cream for family members and others. She loved watching her numerous humming birds. Doris was a member of the Oakfield Baptist Church, Thornville O.E.S. Chapter 156, and White Shrine of Jerusalem. She helped her husband, Wilbur with many of the fish frys at The Masonic Temple.

Survived by her children, Doris Christine Connell of Cross Lanes, WV, Wilbur Dean (Pat) Barnes of New Lexington, Margaret (John) Burgess of Lancaster, Deanna (James) Mock, David (Lydia) Barnes, Jed Barnes of New Lexington; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren; sister- in- law, Janice Carrigan of Hemlock, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wilbur Barnes; daughters, Luann McCoy; brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Rufus, Ralph, Vincent and Gerald Bolyard; sisters, Lucille Sherlock, Ruby Decot, Mary Reed and Ruth Purvis.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with O.E.S. services held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 and from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor John Kessler officiating.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery
