Dorothea “Dottie” Selock

Dorothea “Dottie” Selock, 94, of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Morrison House in Zanesville.
Dottie was born on January 3, 1931, in Guernsey County, a daughter of the late Howard and Velma (Willis) Hopkins.
Dottie had many jobs over the years, working until she was 89 and retiring three different times. She worked at Echo, One Hour Martinizing, the Salt Fork Marina, Cambridge Developmental Center, and several home health agencies. Dottie was known for her cooking, specifically her popcorn balls and peanut butter fudge.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John Hamilton, and her siblings, Dick Hopkins, Eleanor Cramer, Jim Hopkins and Chuck Hopkins.
Dottie is survived by her daughter, Sue (Tom) White, her ex-daughter-in-law, Kathleen Diroll, her brother, Bob Hopkins, and sister, Judy (John) Henkel. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Tia (Chase) DeLong, whom she lived with, Tony (Tara) Tysinger, Eric Patterson, Johnny Hamilton, and Tim Hamilton, her great-grandchildren, Kyle Patterson, Kelsey, Sidney, Allison, John II, Jase and Dax, and her nieces and nephews who she was very close with.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 10AM-11AM at the Northwood Mausoleum with the service to immediately follow with Pastor Bob Hollins officiating. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery.
