Douglas Whitehair

Whitehair Doug

Douglas R. “Whitey” Whitehair, 65, of Cambridge, went home to Heaven Monday (October 21, 2024) at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

He was born March 15, 1959 in Cambridge, son of Earl Whitehair and Carolyn (Willis) Whitehair.

Doug was a 1977 graduate of Meadowbrook High School and earned his Muskingum Joint Vocational Power Lineman degree. He was hired at Guernsey Muskingum Electric, where he retired after thirty-eight years of service.

He was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Doug liked hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

Doug had a big heart and was willing to help anyone. He loved spoiling his great-nieces and great-nephews with giant Hershey bars, popsicles, and drum sticks. He will be sorely missed by his family, as well as by his many friends – several that were his high school buddies.

He was preceded in death by his former father-in-law, Sug Wheatley; and his niece, Makayla Scott.

Doug is survived by Debbie; his son, Kristopher; his parents, Earl and Carolyn Whitehair; his sisters, Vicki (& Robin) Sichina, Annette (& Robert) Scott, and Sheri (& Brian) Secrest; his brother, Brad (& Ann) Whitehair; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-niece.

Memorial visitation hours will be held Friday (October 25, 2024) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kirk Gable officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Doug’s name be made to the Southern Hills Baptist Church (127 W 8th Street, Cambridge OH 43725).
