Downtown Zanesville Transforming Into Holiday Paradise
Zanesville’s most popular holiday tour is only a couple days away.
Dozens of downtown businesses and attractions will be decked out in Christmas cheer for this year’s Miracle on Main Street. From “Frosty the Snowman” to “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” each business will be beautifully decorated in a beloved Christmas tale of their choice.
“Following the story book theme, businesses will be decorated toward their favorite story books, and they’ll have open houses, some of the businesses will have entertainment, some may be playing the guitar or have a choir singing,” said Chamber of Commerce Member and Services Director, Dana Matz.
The holiday festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a celebration in front of the Muskingum County Courthouse at 6:30, featuring live musical performances, the lighting of the courthouse, and the arrival of Santa Claus.
“We have the Sweet Adelines, the Broadway Babies, the Zanesville High School Jazz Band, and then local dignitaries welcoming the crowd to the downtown area, and thena little bit after 7 o’clock we’ll have the arrival of Santa Claus,” Matz said.
Also, the Festival of Trees will be open from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Zanesville- Muskingum County Welcome Center.
