DRESDEN, OHIO-  The annual Dresden holiday parade took place Sunday.

It featured local cheer teams, football teams, community leaders, Santa and the Mayor of Dresden.

“This is a close knit community. Like everywhere, you’ve got your naysayers but they come and go. It’s just great to see the community spirit and with our football team, this community’s probably never been more united than it is right now. It’s pretty good,” said Dresden Mayor, David Mathew.

Although football players of the Tri Valley High School are known for their skills on the field, players on the middle school team are known for their efforts of helping bring joy to others this holiday season.

“It’s a parade that goes through Dresden and we donated scarves, and hats and gloves and coats for The Salvation Army,” said student, Ty Smith.

“I just love giving to everyone and you just need to give what you get,” said student, Caiden Kinner.

Many students of the Tri Valley honors society have really made it their goal to help provide things needed for the youth in the local community.

“It’s just a parade to help raise hats and gloves and coats and scarves for kids who aren’t as fortunate in our community and who need stuff for the holiday season,” said student, Molly Shupert.

“I like how we all work together as a community to help those who just aren’t as fortunate as other people,” said student, Anna Paul.

This annual holiday parade is one that really unites the community of Dresden. The Village strives to benefit the lives of the less fortunate this holiday season, and bring in the holiday the right way.
