DRESDEN, Ohio-  Labor Day marks an end to the swimming season at Dresden Swim Center.

Kids and adults were able to swim for the last time this summer at the pool in Dresden. Swim Center Manager Nick Bice said today was a good turnout for the final day. He said overall this summer has been a better than average one.

“We had a really good start to the summer,” said Bice. “Since about midpoint of the summer it’s been kind of rough with the weather, but we’ve had some good days sprinkled in there. We ended up pulling out a pretty good summer overall.”

Bice said the weather is part of the reason for better than average attendance. The other portion of the positive turn out is, the special amenities the pool offers.

“We had private and group swim lessons throughout the whole summer,” said Bice. “We had water aerobics, and some other events we’re going to try and plan in the future. Our swimming lessons are pretty popular and getting nice hot summer weather means we usually have a pretty good crowd.”

Bice said the closing of the Dresden pool shows that the end of summer is almost here. In the next coming weeks, the staff will be working on putting everything away for the winter.
