‘Drive 4 Ur Community’ Check Presentation

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ford Motors Company donated to United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties because of the communities support.
United Way and Dutro’s Ford Lincoln Nisan held their third annual ‘Drive 4 Ur Community’ fundraiser. The fundraiser is where people go to Dutro’s for one day and test drive a Ford vehicle. In return Ford Motors will donate $20.00 per test driver towards United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties.
According to Dave Wallace Dutro’s Sales Manager this is a fundraiser that’s free to everyone financially, all this fundraiser takes is your time.
“The community has been through a lot here the past few years,” Wallace said. “We’ve [had a] little bit of a down recession and of course everything is coming back. Now a lot of rebuilding in the local community downtown and so on, but it’s really nice because the money is 100% funded by Ford. We actually donated the space, the time, and some employees to help with it.”
United Way’s Executive Director Meg Deedrick said over three years the fundraiser has grown with more people test driving ford vehicles and more money being donated by Ford Motors Company in return. United Way has doubled their amount this year.
“Because we were able to do that we had 250 drivers show up and raised $5,000 that stays directly here in Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties and will be spent to support those twelve goals in the areas of health, education, and financial stability,” said Deedrick.
Dutro’s and United Way is hoping Ford Motors will keep the ‘Drive 4 Ur Community’ fundraiser for 2018. So they can keep providing funds for the community in the coming years.
