Driver Faces Possible Felony Charges in Police Pursuit
A police pursuit earlier this week in Zanesville results in the driver possibly facing felony charges.
Detective Sgt. Ric Roush says on Monday around 7 p.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Linden Avenue for erratic driving.
He says the driver failed to stop which resulted in a pursuit by a Zanesville Police officer.
The pursuit continued from Linden Avenue to Military Road where the driver finally pulled over at the intersection of Military and Dresden Roads.
Roush says a 47-year-old Hamiliton, Ohio man was taken into custody and charged with suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, failing to comply with the order of a police officer and left of center.
Currently the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case.
Roush says the suspect’s name will not be released until formal charges have been filed.
