Drug Bust In Glenford Nets 40 Pounds

Perry County Sheriff William Barker says a Glenford man is in jail after the seizure of over 40 pounds of marijuana. Barker says on Friday deputies and other law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at 5667 Township Road 22 in Glenford after a tip that the property owner was growing marijuana. The Sheriff says 44-year-old Shawn Morrison was cultivating marijuana inside his home and deputies seized 129 marijuana plants with a street value of just over 132-thousand dollars. Officers also say they confiscated 10 firearms, meth and currency from the home. Sheriff Barker says Morrison is being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail on one count of illegal cultivation of marijuana and could face more charges once the case goes before a grand jury. Barker says this is the second time Morrison has been caught growing marijuana in his home. Sheriff Barker says in total 18 arrests were made at the scene with 14 of those arrests for underage alcohol consumption. The Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Ohio Investigating Unit assisted at the scene.
