ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A drug bust took place Wednesday afternoon leading to the arrest of one person.

The Zanesville and Muskingum County Joint Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 2202 Norwood Boulevard where they seized 100 grams of meth, 20 grams of cocaine, pills, marijuana, 2 handguns, three vehicles and 30 thousand dollars in cash. Sheriff Matt Lutz said it was simply great police work that lead to the execution of the warrant.

“It really is just these guys working together, taking the information that we get from the public, taking the information we get from police reports and the officers on the street and then turning it into cases,” said Lutz.

Zanesville Police Chief Tony Coury said they did take one person into custody at the scene. He said they don’t know yet how many other suspects there are or if any other arrests will be made in connection with this particular case but that the investigation will continue.

“They’ll continue this investigation through interviews and if that leads to something they’ll knock on another door,” said Coury.

Coury said the name of the individual taken into custody will be released once formal charges are made.
