ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville-Muskingum Joint Drug Unit has announced the arrest of  Jeremy Johnson Fowler following after in connection to an ongoing drug investigation.

Authorities say the arrest on Oct. 7 followed an investigation of Fowler’s drug trafficking operations which started in July of 2025. Units with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted a traffic stop leading to his arrest with over a pound of methamphetamine in the car and large amounts of U.S. currency.

“This was a major player in the region for drug trafficking. Ironically, a person I’ve personally dealt with in my career back when I started 25 years ago. So, this is somebody that is good to get off of the streets,” said Scott Comstock, chief of the Zanesville Police Department.

Authorities say they searched Fowler’s home on Eastward Circle in Zanesville, where they found more than 85 pounds of methamphetamine and more than 17 pounds of marijuana. According to Comstock, the value of that much methamphetamine on the street is over $750,000.

“…it’s a very lucrative thing until you get caught. And it will continue to be something that we look at enforcing and be a top priority for both of us because it’s just readily available. And you know, when you take a hit like this off the street, it cripples the market for a little bit. There’s not doubt in our minds that somebody will step in and try to take over and we’ll put them on the radar next,” said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz.

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Joint Drug Unit would like to thank the Licking and Guernsey County Sheriff’s offices and the Counter Drug Task Force for their assistance this case. The case is still under investigation at this time.
