Duncan Falls Philo Lions Club Second Annual Pediatric Cancer Walk

DUNCAN FALLS, OH – It’s time to lace up your sneakers to help fight cancer.

On Saturday, July 13th, the Duncan Falls Philo Lions Club invites you to the Philo track for their second annual Pediatric Cancer Walk. The walk will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and aims to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer.

“I am a two-time survivor of prostate cancer. I just got done with the second round of that. My father died of cancer. Anything I can do to help anybody who has cancer, I try to help. I know it’s tough when it’s yourself and74 years old on your second battle. But when you look at a child with cancer, something’s got to be done.” Duncan Falls Philo Lions Club President, Steve Tyo said.

Walking and pledge sheets are available on the Duncan Falls Philo Facebook page. You can collect pledges for each lap completed or simply make a donation. 75% of the money raised will support a local Philo student who is courageously battling cancer, while the other 25% will go to the Ohio Lions Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

“There is a junior at Philo Highschool who has kidney cancer. The need is there, so, we’re trying to raise a little bit of money to help her out with medical bills and things like that.” Tyo said.
