ZANESVILLE, Ohio- For the last several weekends, Dutro Ford along with the Zanesville Police and Fire Departments have been working relentlessly to collect donations for their food and toy drive.

Saturday, as the food and toy drive came to an end, countless items were donated and collected to help with the cause. Monday, the Fire Department and members of Dutro Ford made their rounds to drop off all of the canned food items and toys.

“We wanted to be a part of this event because the community needs it. They have a food and toy drive every year. We’ve already taken a load of toys out, we’re getting ready to take another load of food out so what a great event for the whole community, and that’s what we’re trying to do here is keep the community involved,” said Dutro General Sales Manager, Mark Falls.

Dutro says they were able to raise about $5,000 in donations. As Christ’s Table is home to many receiving meals on a daily basis, their kitchen manager tells us the donated food is going to be prepared for the community,” said Tim Collins, Christ’s Table Kitchen Manager.

All the food that Dutro brought in today will be used by myself and my staff to prepare meals Monday through Saturday,” said Tim Collins, Christ’s Table Kitchen Manager.

Christ’s Table is oven 6 days a week and serves about 10,000 meals per month  5,000 of which are distributed to the homes of those who are unable to get to Christ’s Table.  Gearing up for the holidays, they’re in need of volunteers of all ages. all the companies involved are looking forward to next year’s event.
