Early ‘In Person’ Primary Voting

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Today was the last day for Ohio voters to register for the 2026 Primary Election.

Early, ‘in-person’ voting for the May 5th, primary election begins Tuesday, April 7th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Muskingum County Board of Elections Office, located at Seventh and Market Streets in Zanesville.

In an Ohio Primary Election, voters must affiliate with a registered political party to choose that party’s candidate to run in the November, General Election.

Absentee Ballot, often called Mail-In Ballot applications can be found in the blue box outside the Board of Elections Office entrance or online, along with sample ballots that let you see exactly how this election’s ballot will appear.

As with every election, Ohio voters will need to provide a valid, unexpired proof of Identification that can include: a drivers license, state ID card, and/or a valid military ID.

Early, in-person voting hours of operation are:

Monday, April 7, through Friday, April 10th: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday, April 13, through Friday, the 17th: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday, April 20, through Friday April 24th: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday, April 27th, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, April 28th, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 29th, through Friday, May 1st, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 2nd, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, May 3rd, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
