Eastside Community Ministry is gearing up for their 11th Annual Chair-ity Auction

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Eastside Community Ministries is having its 11th annual Chair-ity Auction at the Colony Square Mall at the end of the month.

The Zanesville-based nonprofit is holding its biggest fundraiser of the year from February 26th to the 28th and will help Eastside Community Ministry fund its daily operations, like its food pantry and clothing bank.

“Basically, people donate chairs. Chairs of every kind, they can be an office chair, a child’s chair, seats to a game, a music concert. It’s just a variety of chairs and then they put incentive packages with them, and we auction them off through our raffle, online auction or silent auction,” said Jamie Trout, Eastside Community Ministry’s executive director.

Donations of chairs and items for the incentive packages will be accepted until February 25 and will start the event with their preview event the next day.

“This is an opportunity for everyone to stop out, look at all of the items on display, get a closer look, vote on their favorite people’s choice. We’re going to have refreshments there, light appetizers, drinks, door prizes. We’re just trying to get the community to come out and support us,” Trout said.
