Eileen Louise Untied

Untied

Eileen Louise Untied, 84, died November 3rd, 2023. She passed on in her Nashport home in the company of her loving family, as were her wishes.

Eileen was born April 12th, 1939, in Zanesville, to Edwin and Helena Cunningham. She was raised in a loving home with her older brother Glenn in Old Nashport.

Eileen attended Frazeysburg High School. During her time as a Red Raider, she met the love of her life Gerald “Gary” Carlos Untied, Jr. She graduated from high school in 1956. In the same year on June 24th the High School sweethearts were married. Their wedding was held at Irrville United Methodist Church in Nashport. They honey-mooned in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Eileen built a life with Gary based on three principles: Faith, Love, and Family. It was Eileen’s faith that led her husband to his own salvation. Together, they raised three loving daughters, Janeen, Jill, and Julie. Eventually, they were blessed with grandchildren, and it was then the couple unofficially changed their names to “Pap and Nana”.
No visitor to the Untied home was ever made to feel unwelcome. Eileen would prepare a plate and Gary would be sure to add a story to the meal. How many lives were changed around that table? Rest assured, before every meal grace would be said, and thanks would be given.

Eileen was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Zanesville for 56 years. She was a devout prayer warrior and loved singing hymns. Every year that health allowed the couple would attend CMA Family Camp at Beaulah Beach on Lake Erie. Eileen would attend most meetings and get Gary to attend a few when he wasn’t on the lake fishing.

Eileen “Nana” Untied spent hours upon hours deep in prayer and studying the Bible. She doted over her family, friends, and adored her husband. She always had a smile on her face, a hug in her arms, and love in her heart. Eileen was the embodiment of unconditional love.

Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Gary “Pap” Untied. Her brother, Glenn (Ruth) Cunningham of Dresden, Her three daughters; Janeen (Ed) Fell, Jill (Steve) Mahan, Julie (Tom) Sitzes, Her six grandchildren, Kyle (Adriel) Sitzes, Kurt (Jenna) Fell, Kara (Jonathan) Walsh, Miriam (Nathanael) Miles, John (Nicollette) Gerber, Sarah (Kyle) Smith; Her fifteen great grandchildren, Daisy, Garrett, Mycah, Cody, Caden, Claire Sitzes, Claire Gerber, Sawyer, Waylon, Edyn, Bennett, Samuel, Magnolia, Eleanor, and Faye.
