Eleanor Denton

Eleanor “Jean” Denton, 95, of Zanesville, went home to be with Jesus on March 7, 2026.
She was born on November 23, 1930, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Ernest F. Gill and Myrtle (Crawford) Gill. Jean was a member of the First Chistian Church of Zanesville and retired from United Technologies/Lear. She loved reading her Bible, traveling, and taking bus trips. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and was known for her homemade M&M cookies, apple pies, and potato salad. Above all, she loved spending her time with her family and loved ones.
Jean is survived by her 2 children: John (Cathy) Bash Jr. and Christine (David) Miller; grandchildren, Brandi (Mike) Bennett, Jeb (Christine) Bash, Megan (Tyler) LeMaster, Wendy (Tim) Kane, Sara (Jeremy) Knicely, Liz Reitzer, Abbey (Eric) Irvin; great grandchildren, Shayna, Kaitlin, Mikey, Emma, Bailey, Aubrey, Josslynn, Hannah, Zach, Libby, Lilly, Jackson, Cody, Kyle, Allissa; great great grandchildren, Riley, Levi, Luke, Josephine, Ben, Barrett; 2 other grandsons, L and L; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Loren Edward Denton; 3 brothers: Fred Gill, Richard Gill, and Earl Gill; 3 sisters: Thelma Roach, Vivian Kinder, and Ruth Williams.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 12, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM & 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Friday March 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held on Friday March 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Laureen Roe officiating. Burial will conclude services at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
