Philo’s upset bid falls short in regional semifinal

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The 8-seed Philo Electrics fell to 4-seed Shelby in D-IV regional semifinal action Friday night, 40-12.

Junior running back Devon Brooks found the end zone twice in the first half to help the Whippets build a 21-0 lead at halftime. Shelby continued its offensive outburst in the second half to cruise to the regional final, where they will meet 2-seed Steubenville.

The Electrics end their season with a 9-3 record. Philo captured a share of the MVL championship for the first time since 1995 and won the second playoff game in school history.
