Elizabeth “Darlene” Shepard

Elizabeth D. “Darlene” Shepard, 90 of Roseville, died 6:15 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Altercare in Zanesville, following a brief illness. She was born Thursday, September 12, 1935, in Redfield, Ohio, the daughter of Harold Spears and Mary (Lacey) Spears.

Darlene enjoyed camping in Florida with her husband, and best friend, Zola Duncan. She loved to go thrift shopping and bargain hunting. Darlene had a great personality, with a keen sense of humor, and never met a stranger. She was a loving and caring wife, and friend who loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Darlene is survived by one sister, Susan Patterson; nephews, Nathan Starcher, Adam Patterson and Andrew Patterson; a very close friend that Darlene considered her granddaughter, Wendy Outland and her son, Jacob Elson, and a special cousin, Stephanie Miller.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by husband, Arnold Shepard, and her best friend, Zola Duncan; a brother, Gene Spears, and a special aunt and uncle, Joe & Beverly Lacy who helped care for Darlene during her time of need.
