Ellene Faye Helms

Ellene Faye Helms, age 85 of Zanesville, OH, passed away peacefully in her home, May 19, 2020. She was born May 17, 1935, in Fullerton, KY, to the late Ruth Amanda and Ellis Cain Adkins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Fonda Jane Hammond, one sister, Marilyn Owen, and one brother, Don Adkins.  Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Faye enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and collecting glassware with her husband, Joe, of 26 years.

Faye is survived by husband, Joe Helms; daughters, Donita Ruth Barcus of Frazysburg, Ramona Faye (Robert) Wilson of West Jefferson, and Teena Lucille (Jon) McManaway of Zanesville; one son, Ron E. (Sue) Hammond of Sebastian, FL; grandchildren, Clesson C. Hammond, Daniel R. (Danielle) Wilson, Adam L. Wilson, Gidget (Doug) Dickson, and Cooper E. Hammond; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herb (Kaye) Adkins, David (Jane) Adkins, and Roger (Lisa) Adkins; her sister, Norma (Lonnie) Bowling; a sister-in-law, Fran Adkins; a brother-in-law, Paul Owen; numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The family would especially like to thank Genesis Hospice for their loving care and support.

Family and friends may call May 30, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, 4509 Salt Creek Dr., Duncan Falls, OH 43734, with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following, Pastor Steve Harrop officiating. In light of current health concerns, we are asking that all attending observe social distancing and if you wish you may bring personal protection equipment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice of Zanesville or the American Cancer Society in her memory.
